For a while now I have seen Gerard Cosmetics pop up on various blogs and Youtube videos and thought, "what amazing packaging I have to try them lipsticks one day!".
A couple of weeks back I was watching one of ImogenFoxyLocks's Youtube videos were she was using Gerard Cosmetics and was promoting a 40% off discount code. So of course I wasted no time and went straight onto the website and ordered 3 lipsticks. How could I resist 40% off!??
The lipsticks retail at £12.98 on the website ($19), however they were coming from America so there was a delivery charge. I think they do sell them in the UK on BeautyBay for around the same price but the 40% off only applied on the actual Gerard Cosmetics website.
After waiting a couple of weeks they finally arrived and I could not wait to open them. My initial thoughts were that the packaging was so amazing, and also that they looked more expensive then you would think (a bit like YSL).  The colours I chose, 1995, French Toast and Tequila Sunrise all look lovely, however 1995 and French Toast are very very similar. After trying and testing all of the colours I decided that 1995 was my favourite off them all. I found that  for all the lipsticks the colour pay off wasn't the best and I didn't think that the lipsticks were worth the money. I would much rather save my money for a MAC lipstick for a few pounds more.

1995
Matte finish.
Good colour pay off, but slightly drying on the lips (in my opinion).
Best used with a lip liner, smudged/"leaked" easily.

French Toast
Creamy/glossy finish.
Very similar to 1995 in colour.
Found it not to last very long on the lips.
Best used with a lip liner, also leaked.

Tequila Sunrise
Bright summer colour.
Creamy texture and finish.
Colour pay off not very good, had to re-apply a few times.

 Tequila Sunrise, 1995, French Toast

French Toast and 1995 look very similar on the above pictures but on this picture you can kind of see the difference. 1995 being the middle shade which you can see is matte and French Toast is more glossy.

Although the nights are becoming darker, the mornings are becoming colder and I my excitement for Christmas is growing, I am still loving the white jean trend. Its one of those looks that looks so classy and chic. I thought I would share with you two recent outfit posts were I have been wearing white jeans. I think there a good alternative on a night out to wearing dress because firstly it is freezing but also it still looks dressy.

Hello there.

Yesterday was lovely and sunny here in England so I thought I would apply some fake tan and get the legs out. I got this lovely summery dress from H&M a couple of weeks back and I just think its one of the this perfect summer dresses. I've found it hard to find a time where I could actually wear a dress because the English weather is so unpredictable. I wore the dress with some brown/cork heeled heels. They are so comfortable there like wedges but not, if that makes sense? Haha. Anyway enjoy the pictures.....

I curled my hair with a Babyliss curling wand and I'm wearing Mac's lipstick in Cost Chic.
Bye for now my lovelies!

I didn’t know whether I was going to publish this post, as it was just something I drafted on my laptop about how I was currently feeling but I thought why not, there might be other people who feel the same. Also I want my blog to be about more then just beauty and fashion. So hear it is…

I don’t know about anybody else but I’m really struggling with what I want out of life. Sometimes I can a get a little bit down about the whole thing because I haven’t got my life figured out yet. I’m still living at home with my family and sometimes it just doesn’t feel like I am getting anywhere. Since I was little I always thought I would move out by the time I was 20, have my own flat and an amazing job that paid me loads of money. So far, this has not happened (which obviously is a bit ambitious unless you Kylie or Kendall Jenner). I can’t help but feel like I’m failing and I can’t shake these thoughts out of my head. Let me take you back, so last year I graduated from University with a degree in (BSc) Psychology, yes this is an amazing achievement but I don’t feel any more near to a passionate career a year later. I thought that I did want to do something in the psychological field but now I just don’t know whether I feel excited about it. Also if you want a job in the psychology area you have to have years of experience so it is going to take me a while to get a decent job with decent pay in that. Now I’m not saying its all about the money, I would much rather be doing something exciting that I’m passionate about and be on less money then be doing something I hated for loads of money.

Over the last year I have been working part time as a waitress and have been working in a school as a data assistant, at first I was happy with this. However now I just feel like I don’t know what I want to do. I’m currently trying to look for a new job, as much as I love working in the school full time it can be boring sitting behind a desk all day doing somebody else’s work. Every job I find that I think I could potentially do looks good at first and then I think to my self could I actually do this day in day out for the rest of my live? Recently I have also started volunteering for the NSPCC that I also do enjoy but again I just don’t know what I want from it. I guess its just one big journey that you have to enjoy? I think I’m just terrified of waking up when I’m 30 and having no career that I’m passionate about and thinking to myself ‘I have wasted my life away’. I know that sounds a little bit depressing and I suppose a lot of people worry about the same thing. I’m sitting her now at 22 years of age thinking what do I want? WHAT DO I WANT? If I’m honest with my self something I have always been passionate about is make up, fashion and beauty. Which is why I started this blog to begin with, I’ve always read other peoples blogs and thought I could do it too. A few weeks back I thought to my self YOLO, and booked onto a nail course local to me. I just thought to my self what have I got too loose, if I enjoy it and like doing it then that’s great, I may be able to pursue a career in it or start my own business. If not then I have gained a new skill; I see it as a win-win situation.

Even though yes I have taken the plunge and booked onto this nail course, it doesn't mean that its what I'm going to do for a living because Im still figuring that out. Life is about enjoying what you do. Even though I haven’t got it all figured out I’m hoping it will all fit into place eventually. Sometimes I think as society we are constantly looking at other people’s lives and comparing them to our own (which I am guilty of).  However I think it’s important to know that everyone works at there own pace and just because something hasn’t happened for you yet doesn’t mean it won’t. I guess that the best thing to do is not dwell on what you don’t have but just appreciate life in that moment and be grateful for what you do have. I always say to my self everything happens for a reason. I know I don’t have everything figured out and I don’t have that dream apartment I’ve always wanted or that walk in closet I’ve always wanted (haha). What I’m trying to say is although I started this post being slightly depressing and confused I think what keeps me going is thinking that it is okay to feel that way.

I could go on so much more but I won't bore you too much, thank you for reading my very long and very ranty post,

I don't know about you, but I feel like summer has ended and its only July!? Im hoping the sun is going to come back as I hate feeling cold. Yesterday I went for a little shopping trip, which actually ended up turning to a bigger shopping trip then planned. I was looking for a comfy jacket/cardigan to be worn on the summer days when it actually feels like a winter day. I found this cardigan I'm wearing in Pull&Bear and fell in love with it straight away. Its so cosy and warm and it has that slouchy laid back feel to it which I can see my self in if I was sitting on a beach in Malibu (In my dreams haha).

Sandals: Primark (Love these! I got them for £5)

On wednesday night I had one of the best nights of my life! I went to see my idol.. Taylor Swift! For those of you who don't know, I am a complete and utter Swiftie. I love her music, I love her style, she is beautiful and just perfect (Yes, I am little bit OTT haha). I thought I would share some pictures I got from the night. I went with my little sister and we had such good seats, on the floor right next to to the stage so I could see her so close it was crazy.

Isn't she amazing, I love all her outfits. I also think the camera quality is pretty good considering she was up on the stage so I had to zoom in quite a bit.

Thanks for reading hope you enjoyed the pictures

I placed a little order from Prettylittlething.com recently and got this lovely browny nude top. I paired it with jeans and some nude heels for a night out with the girls. It was a little bit boobilicous so I had to pin it a bit at the front but I think I made it work so it was showing just right amount of flesh.

Last weekend I went to Chester races for a girly day of drinking and gambling, although I didn’t really gamble, I was too scared to scared of losing. Going to the races is one of those days out that I really enjoy, its one big process, the day starts with getting all glammed up followed by a “champagne breakfast” which consisted of croissants and prosseco. Then finally heading for the races to actually see the racing. I had such a good day I have only ever been once before and that was to the Aintree Races 2 years ago! I went with two other friends and won a whole £18! Which for me was a big achievement, as I have never won before hehe.

"Champagne Breakfast"

One of the biggest decisions of the races is deciding on the outfit for the day. I came across this site online that I had never seen before called prettylittlething.com and found so many lovely dresses for amazing prices. I found two dresses that I loved, I couldn’t decide between them so I ended up ordering both (Pictures below).

I ended up going for the pink dress because it seemed like something different that I had never worn before, it just hanged on my body right. I paired the pink dress with a white blazer, nude shoes and a nude fascinator. Unfortunately I never got a picture of my full complete outfit on the day but I do have some close up selfies which I shall insert now.

I have been meaning to blog about this mascara for a while now because I love it soooooo much! It is Maybelline's newest addition to their range of mascaras and it is by far my favourite. Before this mascara came along I had been looking for a mascara with the perfect brush and the perfect formulation. The main thing I was looking for was its ability to lengthen my lashes, this lengthens, gives me volume and leaves no clumps which is very hard to find.

I think the main reason this mascara works well with my lashes is because of the brush, it has loads of tiny bristles of different sizes and is just the right size, not too big and not too small.
I would say that this mascara is a great dupe for the Benefit They're Real Mascara. I have purchased the They're Real Mascara a number of times before because I love what it does to my lashes. However, since finding the Lash Sensational Mascara I think I will be repurchasing this instead as it is a lot cheaper!

So, if you're looking for an affordable drugstore mascara that leaves your lashes long and clump free then I would defiantly recommend this one.

For a while now I have been searching for a foundation that I can wear on a everyday basis that looks natural and doesn't feel cakey on the skin. Whenever I have a liquid foundation on it always feels heavy on my skin and feels as though my skin can't breathe. I hate the feeling of feeling make up on the skin, does that make sense? Unless of course its for a night out or a night time event then I love to pile it on as much as I can!

I think that the reason why I don't like wearing thick foundation on a day to day basis is because I have quite dry skin, so unless I'm having a good skin day then it can sometimes look flakey and patchy. After being unsatisfied with liquid foundation for a natural day time look I was using a concealer on any problem areas and then brushing a light powder over my face. Although this was quite a good method for the "no make up make up look", I was just bored of it, and I didn't find doing my make up very exciting.

In the past I have thought about getting the Bare Minerals Foundation because I heard that it was good for dry skin types and for people who want a more natural look. When I was passing my local Bare Minerals counter I thought what the heck and on a whim I purchased the foundation in the colour "Medium Beige" (Why are those sale ladies so persuasive!?). Since purchasing the foundation I haven't looked back, I absolutely love it! It feels light on the skin, adds a good amount of coverage and lasts a really long time.

Foundation in pot

Foundation on face (Excuse the naked eyes)

These photos were only taken on my phone but I think you can still see how it looks on the skin. It kind of gives this dewiness which I love. The best thing about this foundation it that even if I'm having a dry skin day I can still wear foundation, because the patches don't show up as much compared to a liquid foundation. I originally bought the foundation from Debenhams but when I repurchase it (yes I will be repurchasing thats how much I love it), I will probably get it off Feel Unique because it is a little bit cheaper.

Overall would recommend to anyone! For people with oil skin they do a "matte" finish foundation which may be better suited for you.

Thanks for reading lovelies,

Jessica
